The Breaks – Taveuni & Qamea Region
This is true exploratory surfing raw, uncrowded, and largely untouched. Expect a mix of long, flowing rights, hollow reef sections, and playful outer reefs, with very few surfers venturing this far. It’s less about named breaks and more about discovery, where each session feels like your own.
Maqai
A standout right-hander and the most consistent wave in the area. Breaking across all tides, Maqai offers long, flowing walls with sections that can barrel end-to-end on the right swell. From playful waist-high days to powerful swell events, it caters to intermediate through to advanced surfers, with forgiving deep-water channels for easy recovery.
Kavas
Located just across the pass, Kavas is a fast, hollow left best suited to confident surfers. Working from mid to high tide, it delivers 150m of peeling wall with barrel sections and clean carving lines. Shallow and powerful off the take-off, it rewards precision and timing.
Black Rock
A fun, short left-hand ledge positioned between Taveuni and Qamea. Best on larger south to southwest swells, it offers clean, ruler-edged walls with protection from prevailing winds—ideal for cruisy sessions when conditions align.
Beginner & Fun Waves
Closer to shore, a series of sandbar and reef setups provide ideal conditions for learners and longboarders. Gentle, forgiving waves offer the perfect environment for progression, with occasional opportunities to step up to Maqai in smaller conditions.
From user-friendly peelers to hollow reef passes, this zone delivers a diverse and uncrowded surf experience—where each break offers its own rhythm, and every session feels earned.

Additional activities & Inclusions
Sailing, snorkelling, SUP, kite surfing (optional), fishing, beach exploring, waterfall walks and guided island visits.

LOOPING is more than a vessel—it’s a gateway to Fiji’s far north, where movement, freedom, and discovery define every day.
