The Waves In Fiji

Surf Fiji in the heart of the South Pacific where powerful reef breaks, glassy perfection, and untold wave stories await. Fiji Surf Charter gives you exclusive access to some of the most celebrated surf breaks in the world, including Cloudbreak, Wilkes, and beyond, plus the freedom to chase remote waves far from the beaten path.

Fiji’s Legendary Line-Up

The Waves of the Mamanucas
Raw reef energy. All-day versatility. From hollow barrels to long cruisers—this is Fiji’s ultimate surf playground.
The southern Mamanuca Islands offer some of the most consistent and diverse waves in the South Pacific. Whether you’re chasing legendary breaks like Cloudbreak or trimming glassy walls on a log or SUP, there’s something here for every style.
With our private yacht and two tenders, we move with the swell. You’ll surf world-class waves, find mellow sessions, and score empty peaks—depending on the moment.

Beyond the Known
Our yacht gives us freedom to explore. We go beyond the crowded lineups, reaching remote outer reefs and lesser-known breaks. With expert local knowledge, we chase the best conditions each day. No crowds. Just clean waves.

Wind Sports & Playful Afternoons
As the afternoon breeze picks up, we adapt.
Surf clean, protected breaks
Or switch to kiting and winging in clear blue lagoons
Two tenders mean total flexibility—split the group, follow the wind, or sneak in one last wave.

Conditions Overview
Swell: South/Southwest is best
Winds: Easterly trades with consistent seabreezes
Season: April to October (dry season)
Water Temp: 26–29°C year-round—no wetsuit needed
Whether you’re chasing barrels or flying over the reef, this is your floating surf base. No crowds. No compromise. Just freedom.

Cloudbreak

Left | Intermediate to Advanced
Best: Low–Mid Tide

The jewel of the Mamanucas. Cloudbreak is fast, hollow, and world-renowned for good reason. Multiple sections offer tube time and critical takeoffs across a long, wrapping reef. Best during the April–October swell window, but a must-see whenever it’s working.

Restaurants

Left | Intermediate to Advanced
Best: Low Tide

Perfectly formed and hyper-consistent, Restaurants runs like a wave pool along the edge of Tavarua Island. Shallow and sharp on lower tides, but with enough shape to tempt intermediate surfers chasing their first reef barrel. Best for shortboards and confident longboarders with quick feet.

Wilkes Passage

Right | Intermediate to Advanced
Best: Mid–High Tide

Wilkes holds size and delivers fast, open-ocean power. While not typically ideal for SUPs or logs when it’s firing, smaller swells here can be incredibly fun for confident riders across all craft. Long, rippable faces and deep barrels await.

Swimming Pools

Right | Beginner to Intermediate
Best: Low–Mid Tide

A dream for longboarders and SUP riders. Easy entry, playful shoulders, and clean, deep blue water make this one of the most enjoyable and approachable waves in the region. On bigger days, it still throws hollow sections and crisp lines.

Namotu Left

Left | Beginner to Advanced
Best: Mid Tide

One of the longest and most versatile waves in Fiji. Whether you’re trimming on a longboard, noseriding your SUP, or chasing a barrel on a shortboard, Namotu Lefts delivers. Soft on smaller days, serious when it builds.

Desperations

Left & Right | Intermediate to Advanced Best: Mid–High Tide

The reliable fallback when others are flat—Desperations catches it all. A deepwater reef break that serves up both rights and lefts depending on the swell angle. Ideal for funboard, fish, longboard, and SUP surfing when the rest of the region takes a breather.

Tavarua Rights

Right | Beginner to Advanced
Best: Mid–High Tide

Rolling reef lines make this a go-to for learners, longboarders, and SUP surfers on smaller days. When the swell builds, it becomes a powerful, rippable wave with surprisingly fun barrels. A solid place to refine skills before stepping up to heavier breaks.

Coral Coast

More Coastline. More Waves. Your Charter, Your Rules.

Wilder Coastlines. Forgotten Lineups. South Fiji, Unlocked.
Stretching from Sigatoka to Pacific Harbour, Fiji’s Coral Coast is a rugged, lesser-known surf zone with serious potential. Available for private charters only, this region is perfect for surfers seeking new waves, fewer crowds, and full flexibility to explore beyond the mainstream.

What to Expect
The Coral Coast catches solid southern swells and offers a mix of reef breaks, river mouth peaks, and volcanic headlands. It’s raw and unpredictable—but when it turns on, it delivers long rides, clean barrels, and zero crowds.

Wave Potential
Frigates Passage
 – One of the most powerful lefts in Fiji, Frigates handles serious swell and offers world-class barrels with no land access.
Pipe / Hideaways / Sigatoka region – A mix of beach breaks and reef passes with fun, accessible rights and lefts—ideal for intermediate crews or relaxed days.
Offshore reef passes – South-facing setups that come alive with the right tide and wind, offering secret sessions far from resort zones.

Why Charter South?
No crowds
 – With limited access and few boats, most breaks are empty
Multiple setups – Ideal for a mix of surfers and craft (shortboard, longboard, SUP)
Untapped variety – From playful to powerful, the Coral Coast delivers surf for all conditions
Add-ons welcome – Combine surf with kiting, fishing, diving, or beach drop-offs

Logistics & Experience
Full or multi-day charter options
Launch from Port Denarau or Coral Coast by request
Includes: private yacht, crew, chef, surf tenders, and custom routing
Perfect for surf crews, families, or wind sport groups wanting space and solitude

Private, adaptable, and surf-first—this is how you unlock Fiji’s forgotten south.

Taveuni & Qamea

Untouched North. Raw Reefs. Rarely Ridden Waves.

For those seeking something truly off-grid, we offer bespoke charters to Fiji’s northeastern frontier—Taveuni and Qamea. This is where the swells hit first, the reefs stay wild, and the lineups are often yours alone.

What to Expect
The Taveuni region is raw, remote, and exposed to solid Pacific groundswell. Fewer surfers, little development, and wave setups still being discovered, it’s a paradise for adventurous crews wanting to surf Fiji as it was decades ago.

Wave Potential
Maqai
(Qamea) – A fun, long left-hander peeling over deep reef—perfect for intermediate to advanced surfers.
Lavena & nearby reef passes – Fast, hollow waves with power, shaped by the raw energy of open-ocean swell.
Undiscovered setups – With the right swell and tides, the reef passes and volcanic points around Taveuni and Qamea light up with clean, powerful surf.

Why Charter North?
Uncrowded, untouched
 – Few boats, no crowds, and surf that’s still under the radar
First swell contact – These islands often catch long-period swell before it wraps west
Lush surroundings – Waterfalls, jungle hikes, and volcanic cliffs offer a different kind of Fijian beauty
Combined adventure – Pair your surf days with snorkeling, spearfishing, or inland exploring

Logistics & Experience
Multi-day charter required (flight to Taveuni or extended sail from central Fiji)
All-inclusive: crew, chef, tenders, local guide, surf transfers
Custom itineraries based on swell, weather, and guest preferences
Ideal for experienced surf crews, photographers, or guests seeking total disconnect

This is Fiji, unplugged. Raw reef. Wild swell. Your own private surf search.
